From Mom to Shop Owner: My Journey to Creating a Boutique for Families Like Yours

Hey there! I’m Kaitlyn, the proud owner of Rosebud & Jo, and I wanted to share my story with you.

The past few years have been a whirlwind for me and my husband Mike. We’ve faced our fair share of challenges, like navigating newlywed life amidst a pandemic and losing my job (right as I found out I was pregnant with our first, Josephine). We experienced the highs of buying our dream home and the lows of losing it all in a devastating fire. Amidst it all, there were moments of joy, like finding out I was pregnant with our second, Georgie. However, just when we thought we were finding our footing again, I was struck by the heartbreaking loss of my mum. Navigating the depths of grief while also being a mother myself has been a whirlwind of emotions, one that continues to shape me every day.

August of 2023, I made a pivotal decision to step back from my full-time job and reflect on the past few years. I realized that life is precious and fleeting, and I wanted to make every moment count. I want to be an example for my daughters, showing them that taking a leap of faith is scary but entirely possible.

So, with a heart full of courage and determination, I’m following my dreams. I’ve embarked on a new chapter and I’m building something beautiful. Because in the end, it’s not about the challenges we face but how we rise above them and the legacy we leave behind.

As a mom of two adorable (and wild) munchkins, my journey into the world of baby essentials has been nothing short of magical and I hope to share that with you. At Rosebud & Jo, each hand-picked item reflects my commitment to both your baby’s wellness, comfort and the health of our planet. As a women-owned boutique, I strive to support other women-owned businesses by featuring their thoughtfully crafted products in our collection.
