Maybe It's Because We Care So Deeply

I walked into my facial appointment sobbing this morning. The weight of a sleepless night, a cold brewing from something my little one brought home from daycare, and the infinite meltdowns my 4-year-old was having this morning broke me.

Being a mom is the most amazing thing I’ve ever done but also the hardest. Some moments I feel like I’m crushing it—but others? Not so much. And why do those not-so-great moments feel so incredibly heavy?

Maybe it’s because we care so deeply. Because we pour so much of ourselves into our children, into our homes, into all the little things no one sees. And when we hit our limit, it feels like failure—even though it’s anything but.

Motherhood isn’t about perfection. It’s about showing up. It’s wiping away tears (theirs and your own), making PB&Js with love (even if they don’t eat what you make), and starting over even when the day begins with a meltdown before 8 a.m.

If today feels like too much, you’re not alone. I see you. I am you. And tomorrow is a fresh start—for all of us.
