Story time from Gems by Laura: In October 2015, I was 9 weeks along expecting a baby. Up to this point everything felt the same as my previous pregnancy until I began to bleed. I knew something wasn’t quite right so I went to the doctor and after a few tests he determined my baby’s heart was no longer beating. 💔 This was not the news I expected to receive going into the appointment and I immediately lost it right there in the doctor’s office. 😭 Following that day, I experienced a whirlwind of so many emotions. There was anger, sadness, exhaustion, mourning, depression and slowly I felt light creep in and replace those negative feelings with gratitude and hope. I felt comforted knowing I wasn’t alone in my experiences as I talked with other moms who could sympathize with me. My baby Hazel came along about a year later and brought me a 🌈 after the ⛈.
