About the brand

My first mission as a brand new mom to Olive, our first baby, was to find the perfect swaddle. After years of swaddling hundreds of babies I cared for in the NICU, I knew the power of tightly swaddling to calm and comfort nearly any baby. I bought every popular muslin swaddle blanket I could find to only watch her wiggle her way out and wake up crying and uncomfortable over and over again. We were a tired baby and mama, underwhelmed and frustrated with our options, so I got to work. 

After spending many hours testing and hand-picking the best material, I sat at my home sewing machine (while bouncing brand new Olive on one knee) and the first Lou Lou blanket was born—one that was silky soft on her sensitive skin and stretchy enough for a perfect, snug swaddle. While I never meant to create a business, I quickly learned that what was best for my own babies could be best for yours, too. It’s been love at first swaddle in homes across the world ever since.
